Professional Profile
As the Co-Chair for the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education Association of Ontario, Jodie travels across the province giving workshops, facilitating summer institutes and developing resources to support Indigenous Education in schools. She is also currently the lead on a provincial Community of Practice for Indigenous Knowledge and Mathematics. Jodie Williams currently works as the Indigenous Education Consultant for the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board and is an AQ instructor and course developer for York University in the area of Indigenous Education.
Jodie has also worked as a Program Officer at the Ontario College of Teachers in the Standards of Practice and Education Unit, where she supported provincial capacity building related to teacher education and First Nations, Métis and Inuit education as well as accreditation. As former Department Head of Alternative Education and First Nations, Métis & Inuit Studies in the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board, Jodie is a highly skilled leader dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education. With a proven track record in providing superior professional development throughout the province, Jodie excels in creating and maintaining strong, lasting relationships with local and provincial community partners to support student well-being and achievement. Jodie a fierce advocate for the environment, land-based learning and Indigenous Knowledge, including the revival of Indigenous Languages.
